Flamboyant and heavy endless rains are the signals for the time of summer, which is not considered as a particular, emotional, and memorable period for most people but for those who are lecturers and students, including me. Teaching is my predetermined career path to follow my mom, my very first teacher. Hence, although graduating in Economic field, I still decided to become a lecturer, a job of cultivating people with full of nobility and proud.
The time of summer slowly brings me back to my memories of taking a rigorous university entrance exam in Ho Chi Minh city with the mixed-up feeling of stress, eagerness, and also a strong desire of gaining bachelor degree. Everything at that time was so strange to me from the hectic pace to bustling streets. However, some years later, the high school graduation exam and university entrance exam were combined as regulation, so students no longer experience that feeling. As a consequence, lecturers from universities of Ho Chi Minh city will be appointed to be exam supervisors in other provinces.
The summer of the last two years was extremely special to me as my colleagues and I were randomly assigned to my hometown at Dieu Cai high school, Dinh Quan district. The feeling is like meeting an “old friend” was definitely impressive. It’s about 15 years since I had the very first chance to wear Ao Dai to attend high school. It also reminded that it’s more than 10 years I have learned and lived far from home for the desire of knowledge and a better life.
On coming back day, although all my teachers’re getting older, they are still working there in high positions. All my memories with my classmates, my teachers appear clearly like it just happened yesterday. And obviously, their whole-life dedications for this school and students are countless, valuable and unforgettable. For us, despite the hard life living far from home, we all try to hopefully overcome all difficulties to improve ourselves to step forwards on our career path. As no matter what we do, where we are, we keep in our hearts these beloved memories as motivation for our life as always.
The warming and beloved feeling of this business trip also woke up the extraordinary happiness of being a lecturer of the Industrial University of HCMC, where I graduated from and also worked for. This university witnessed my growth from an innocent student to a mature lecturer. Although my contribution is truly minor to the long-presence of our university, I definitely believe that I will adequately perform my responsibilities with all efforts to be proud of being a lecturer of the Industrial University of HCMC.
Last but not least, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my lecturers with wishes of health, success and happiness in life, a dearest wishes to the university to continuously develop. To students, wish you all successful and let back to your school when you have time to say hello to your lecturers because that simple action could warm lecturers’ sensitive hearts and make them truly happy.
